Team
The Team section lets you manage which people in your organization have access to the SipSop portal, what they can do, and how invitations and permissions work.
Available roles
SipSop has two roles for customer users:
client_admin — Administrator
Full access to all portal features:
- View dashboard, CDR, and billing
- Manage the subscription and payment method
- Invite new users to the team
- Change the role of an existing user
- Remove users from the account
- Configure the service (business hours, IVR, voicemail, caller ID)
You can have multiple client_admin users on the same account. There is no additional cost per user.
client_user — User
Read-only access:
- View the dashboard (KPIs, volume chart, recent calls)
- View the complete CDR with all filters and export CSV
- View the Billing section (current period, invoice history)
Cannot make configuration changes, manage other users, or access the Stripe Customer Portal.
💡 Who should be
client_admin? The business owner, general manager, or the person responsible for paying for the service. Supervisors or employees who only need to view calls go asclient_user.
Inviting a new user
Only client_admin users can invite others.
Steps to invite
- Go to Team in the sidebar
- Click Invite user
- Enter the person's email
- Choose the role:
client_adminorclient_user - Confirm the invitation
The invited person receives an email with an activation link. When they click it, they can create their password and go directly into your account's portal.
⚠️ The invitation link expires in 24 hours. If the person didn't use it in time, you can resend the invitation from the pending invitations tab.
Pending invitations
The Team section has two tabs:
- Active members — people who have already accepted the invitation and have access
- Pending invitations — emails that haven't been accepted yet
You can see who has a pending invitation and resend it if needed.
Viewing and managing current members
The member table shows:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | User's full name |
| Email they registered with | |
| Role | client_admin or client_user |
| Joined | When they joined the account |
Changing a user's role
To change someone from client_user to client_admin or vice versa:
- Go to Team
- Find the user in the table
- Use the change role option in the action menu for that row
The change is immediate. The next time that user loads the portal, they will see (or stop seeing) sections based on their new role.
Removing a user
If someone leaves the business or no longer needs access:
- Go to Team
- Find the user in the table
- Select Remove from team
- Confirm the action
When removed, their session is invalidated and they can no longer log into the portal. You can re-invite them in the future if needed.
⚠️ You can't remove the last
client_adminfrom the account. There must always be at least one active administrator. If you need to transfer administration, first promote someone else toclient_admin, then demote or remove yourself.
Security best practices
- Less access, better. If someone only needs to view calls, give them
client_user. Reserveclient_adminfor those who genuinely need to manage the account. - Review your team regularly. If someone changed roles in your company or left, remove their access. A former employee shouldn't be able to see your business's CDR.
- Don't share credentials. Each person should have their own user account. It's free and it's more secure.
- Use a business email for users, not personal emails. That way, if the person leaves, you have better control over access.
Changing a user's email or password
Each user manages their own credentials from their profile. To change a password:
- Go to the profile menu (name in the sidebar or top corner)
- Select Account settings or Change password
- Enter the current password and the new one
If a user forgot their password, they can use the "Forgot my password" link on the login screen without needing the admin to intervene.
