Add-ons: additional components

Your subscription is not fixed. You can add components as your business needs change. Each add-on charge is added to the base charge and is prorated if you add it mid-month.

Extra extensions

Each additional extension beyond those included in your plan:

PlanCost per extra extension/mo
Essential$8.00
Business$6.00

Example: You're on the Business plan (includes 12 extensions) and need 5 more = 12 + 5 = 17 extensions total. Extra cost: 5 × $6 = $30/mo additional.

Each plan has a maximum:

  • Essential: up to 20 extensions total
  • Business: up to 60 extensions total

Extra DIDs (additional phone numbers)

Each additional phone number beyond those included in your plan:

PlanCost per extra DID/mo
Essential$10.00
Business$10.00

A DID is a real phone number your customers can dial. If you need a separate number for each department (sales, delivery, administration), each one is a DID.

International overage

Calls to international destinations are billed per minute on top of the base charge. It's not a flat add-on — you only pay for what you use.

See the CDR cost section to understand what counts as an international call.

Optional setup fee (white-glove onboarding)

When you subscribe, you can opt to include a one-time $199 setup fee that covers:

  • Complete extension and FreePBX configuration
  • IVR design with your hours and scripts
  • Assistance with porting your existing number
  • Training session with your team

This setup is optional. If you have technical experience or want to do it yourself using the onboarding wizard, you can skip it. If you include it at checkout, it's added as a one-time charge on your first invoice.

Concurrent lines vs extensions?

A common point of confusion:

  • Extension = a phone or device (e.g., ext. 1001 at the deli counter). Each extension is a call endpoint.
  • Concurrent line = a simultaneous call channel. With 5 lines, you can have up to 5 active calls at the same time across all your phones.

Practical example: You have the Business plan with 12 extensions and 5 lines.

  • You can have 12 physical phones or softphones registered.
  • You can have up to 5 simultaneous conversations at any time.
  • If there are 5 active conversations and someone calls, they hear a busy signal (or go to a queue, if configured).

Fair use minutes

Plans have a minute cap per extension per month (2,000 for Essential, 2,500 for Business). This applies to US/Canada domestic calls.

What happens if an extension exceeds that cap?

The fair use cap is an abuse-detection mechanism — for example, if one extension generates abnormally high traffic. For normal business use, 2,000 or 2,500 minutes per extension per month is not a restrictive limit.

If you hit the cap, the Sopinf team will reach out to review the situation. Calls are not automatically cut off for this reason.

How to change plans

To change your current plan (upgrade or downgrade), you can do so from the Stripe Customer Portal, accessed from the Billing section in the portal → "Manage subscription" button.

Plan changes take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. If you need an urgent mid-month change, contact support.

How to add extensions or DIDs

To add components to your current subscription, contact our support team with:

  • How many additional extensions or DIDs you need
  • When you want them activated

The team makes the adjustment in your Stripe subscription and notifies you when it's ready. The charge is prorated from the activation date.
